Rooted to the Centre

What does it mean to be tethered to something you can’t see?

When I started to think about all the forces in my life that were invisible, I was amazed.

Such is the power of mother nature. I kept hearing this phrase in my head “rooted to the centre” and, somehow, I knew what it meant. Not in my thinking brain, but in my heart. There was a core of my being that was in communication with the core of the earth. And that premise was the genesis of this song. Exploring this idea, I sing of gravity, the magnetism of water and family. And then, there are those things that are right in front of my nose: trees, rain, golden fields that feed and nourish me.

“Rooted to the Centre” is an ode to the things that shape and feed me, to both surrender and to gratitude.
